Sita Brahmachari is an author, ambassador for Book Clubs In Schools and has done residences for BookTrust, National Literacy Trust, Amnesty International and more. In 2011 her first novel for young people won the Waterstone’s Book Award and was named by The Guardian as one of the top 50 Diverse Books since the 1950’s. Since then, her many celebrated stories from picture books, to novellas, middle grade novels, short stories and young adult novels and novellas for young people with Dyslexia and reading challenges) have been nominated numerous times for the Carnegie Medal and shortlisted for the UKLA Book Award, Jhalak Prize, Little Rebel Award and selected as Empathy boosting books by Empathy Lab.  Where The River Runs Gold was Waterstones Book of the Month. Sita was shortlisted for the Ruth Rendell Literacy Award in 2023.
